Blind Rage

Description:

Jobe McKenzie and Gavin Lebowitz have survived the worst that the elites could throw at them, and yet, nothing they’ve investigated prepares them for the night when an orc-werebear drops into the path of their car. Wounded in the fight, Gavin becomes cursed as a werekin, and Jobe is suppressed by the pills he’s forced to take, and by his more aggressive personality, the berserker.

The orc’s rampage on Earth keeps creating more survivors with the curse, and now the berserker has his hands full babysitting a pack of “furballs.” Not only does he have keep control of this new pack. He must also hunt down the orc and placate his handler in the FBI, Gary Wagner.

If that wasn’t enough trouble for one stressed out berserker, a local hunter is wounded by the orc, but avoids capture twice. The hunter has sworn revenge against the orc, and the two-way manhunt ends in a bloody battle in the backwoods of Boerne.

Extended information:

Part of the Mystical World Wars series, Blind Rage is a stand alone novel that shouldn't require prior knowledge of the world or the characters. Written as a sequel to the Campaign trilogy and Erick's Journey, Blind Rage details the formation of the first werekin pack on Earth.

Cursed by druid magic, the werekin change into the animals they most closely identify with, and in this first book the creatures featured include two breeds of werebear, a weredog, a werepanther, and a werefox. Additionally, the story features the return of daoine sidhe (black elf) Erick, and the introduction of a blood drinker unlike any of the races profiled in the previous installments of the series.

Although the story takes place primarily against the country backdrop of Boerne Texas, a dangerous game of office politics also sends readers bouncing between the FBI branch office San Antonio and Washington D.C. as Damien Greenfield and his elites move to recruit the new werekin pack and attempt an alliance with the elves through Erick.

If you like Blind Rage, you may also want to read the preceding titles in the same timeline. Start with the three novels in the Campaign trilogy, The Lesser of Two Evils, Trail of Madness, and Redemption Lost. Then check out Erick's Journey to get an introduction to Erick and the orc-werebear.
